Remich & Moselle Wine Valley, Luxembourg

Remich is a picturesque town nestled in the heart of Luxembourg’s wine country along the Moselle River. It is located at the border triangle of Luxembourg, Germany, and France. The town is known as the “Pearl of the Moselle” and blends rich history with a laid-back European atmosphere.

The town’s roots trace back to Roman times when it was known as Remacum. Remnants of its historic past still stand today, including the medieval St. Nicolas Gate, dedicated to the patron saint of sailors and fishermen, and the 12th-century church tower that originally served as a defensive structure.

One of Remich’s highlights is its iconic 3-kilometer promenade lined with birch and cherry trees. Visitors can enjoy peaceful walks along the river, take boat cruises to nearby Schengen, or relax at lively terraces surrounding the famous Bacchus fountain.

The Moselle Wine Valley is internationally famous for producing fine wines. It stretches 42 kilometers along steep, sun-bathed limestone cliffs and gentle clay hills. The valley boasts a unique microclimate and rich slate terroir. It is internationally famous for producing crisp whites like Riesling, Auxerrois, and Pinot Gris, as well as the prestigious Crémant de Luxembourg, a refined sparkling wine crafted using the traditional champagne method.
