La Bourse and Place d’Armes. Namur, Belgium

Located in the heart of Namur, the former Bourse de Commerce is a stunning example of Louis XIII Renaissance architecture, now transformed into a modern congress center known as “La Bourse.” This historical building was constructed in the 1930s and stands proudly at the center of Place d’Armes, an area rich in history.

Originally, Place d’Armes was the gathering place for military ceremonies, and it housed the town hall until it was destroyed during World War I. The area has since evolved, but its historical significance remains palpable. The construction of the Bourse, completed in 1934, helped shape the city’s modern look, while maintaining its heritage. Behind the Bourse, visitors can spot the medieval bell tower, a UNESCO-listed monument that adds a sense of timelessness to the square.

Today, La Bourse serves as an elegant venue for conferences, seminars, and gatherings, offering modern amenities with a touch of historic charm.

Place d’Armes is a dynamic location that blends Namur’s historical past with modern functionality, making it a unique destination for both business and leisure.
