Today, Ghent is a great city for any type of vacation. You can come here for a romantic weekend getaway, tour the historical sites and museums, or just enjoy the beautiful views and delicious food.

The city has many small canals with beautiful brick houses on the canal banks and numerous boats moored at the piers. You can take a ride on tourist boats along the canals.

The most famous sights of Ghent – Gravensteen, or Count’s Castle, the only surviving medieval castle in Flanders, as well as the Cathedral of St. Bavon, which has a history of more than 1000 years.

The small streets are lined with many stores, boutiques and souvenir stores, as well as cafes and restaurants where you can sample traditional local cuisine and gourmet world dishes. For lovers of sweets, we recommend you to try a local delicacy: Kuberdons or Ghent noses – raspberry-flavoured marmalades.
