Choco-Story Brussels. Brussels, Belgium
Choco-Story Brussels is the first chocolate museum in Belgium and a must-visit for anyone curious about the history—and taste—of chocolate. Located just steps from the Grand-Place, the museum offers an interactive experience that takes you from the origins of cocoa in the ancient Americas to the iconic Belgian pralines of today. It’s a journey that combines history, craftsmanship, and plenty of chocolate tasting.
The visit begins with a look into the deep roots of cocoa, including one of the oldest cocoa-related artefacts ever found—dating back 3,500 years and recently discovered in Ecuador. Exhibits showcase how Mayan and Aztec cultures used cocoa, how it arrived in Europe, and how chocolate evolved into the sweet treat we know now. You’ll see antique teapots, serving dishes, and tools once used to prepare and enjoy cocoa drinks.
One of the highlights of the museum is the live demonstration by a master chocolatier, who crafts traditional Belgian pralines right in front of you. Visitors can taste fresh chocolate on the spot and even join hands-on workshops to create their own sweets to take home.
Want to get hands-on? Join one of Choco-Story Brussels’ daily chocolate workshops and make your own chocolate bars, lollipops, and other sweet creations under the guidance of expert chocolatiers. Workshops run four times a day, and spots must be reserved in advance. After the workshop, you can enjoy the full museum experience.
In addition to the immersive experience, Choco-Story Brussels supports cocoa-growing regions through charitable contributions—giving back to the communities that grow the beans behind every chocolate bar.
With exhibits in multiple languages and a chocolate shop on-site, the museum is ideal for families, couples, and chocolate lovers of all ages.
