Atomium, Brussels

Atomium. Brussels, Belgium

One of the most known symbols of Brussels and Belgium, a significant landmark of the Belgian capital. The facility was designed by Belgian engineer André Waterkeyn in 1958 as a symbol of the atomic age and the peaceful use of atomic energy.

The Atomium was renovated in 2006. Inside there are permanent and temporary exhibitions. The permanent exhibition tells the history of the facility. In one of the upper pavilions there is a viewing platform, from where you can see not only the panorama of Brussels, but in good weather you can also see the neighboring Antwerp.

In the highest pavilion there is a restaurant where you can enjoy lunch with a magnificent view of the city from a height of about 100 meters.

It is better to plan your visit in advance to avoid large crowds.
